Staking Harmony ONE With A Ledger Nano S

Remember that currently, Harmony One is not supported on the “Ledger Nano X”

Step 1: Setup your hardware wallet

Setup your Ledger Nano S.

Follow the simple instruction that came with your Nano Ledger S, using the Ledger Live app on your desktop.

Please be careful not to get caught out by any phishing attacks, you do this be only following the instructions supplied with your ledger.

Step 2: Activate the Harmony One Wallet

Harmony ONE wallet requires a few extra steps to activate on your Nano ledger S.

Firstly open your Ledger Live app and select the Manager tab, highlighted below:

Then please sign in with your Ledger using the pin that you created on setup and allow your Ledger Nano S to connect.
You will need to turn on the Developer features.

You do this by clicking on the settings icon at the top right as highlighted below:

Please then select the Experimental features followed by enabling the Developer Mode.

The Harmony One wallet is now ready to be installed.

Please go to the Manager and open the App Catalog.
Find Harmony in the list of apps.
Use the search bar for a quick search.
Then click Install.

Step 3: Connect your Nano Ledger S to the Harmony Staking Portal

Close the Ledger Live app as leaving this running may cause problems when signing into the staking portal.
Run the Harmony app on your Ledger device itself
Visit https://staking.harmony.one/ledger to sign in with your Ledger Nano S. You need to make sure to to confirm any popups on your browser to allow the connection.
Now you will be signed into the staking portal ready to send funds and stake

Step 4: Add Harmony ONE to your Nano Ledger S hardware wallet

You now need to fund your newly created wallet with Harmony ONE.

With the staking website open and being signed in, you can now click the top left address to automatically copy your public address for your Harmony One Wallet.

This is the address you must use when sending funds from the likes of Binance/Coinbase exchanges or others wallet.
You can confirm your balance within the Portfolio tab under your address.

Step 5: Stake your Harmony One

Click on the Validators tab on the left and choose your desired validator. It is wise when choosing a validator to make sure they are active on social media accounts and accessible should you require it. This helps give you the confidence that they are doing their upmost to keep the rewards the best they can be.

Once you have chosen your Validator click to view their individual page.
Click the blue delegate button to stake your ONE. Do NOT send your funds directly to the wallet address. We always send back Harmony One if you send it incorrectly to our wallet address but others may not.

Put in the amount you wish to stake and click confirm.
This will require you to confirm the transaction on your Nano Ledger S as well for that added security you paid for.

Congratulations!! You have successfully staked your Harmony One coins and will now be receiving rewards every 2 seconds from the next epoch.

Note: You can claim your rewards and add them to your delegation. Currently this can be done once you have 1,000 Harmony One but from June/July 2021 this will change to 100 Harmony One coins.

Troubleshooting

Problem: The popup box disappears before the ledger is asked to confirm the transaction.

Fix: Sign out and back in again. This will fix it 99% of the time.
